BLUEROCK Tools - Charitable Giving Results for 2020

14th Dec 2020

In 2020 BLUEROCK Tools' employees decided what charities they wanted to support and BLUEROCK wrote the check. This is not the standard company matching program, that you've heard about in the past where the company matches the employee's donation. This is a 100% company funded program that gives the employee the choice to give to any 501(C)(3) non-profit organization.

Thanks to our employees for caring about their communities by finding these wonderful organizations to support and thanks to all the non-profits for doing the work they do!

Below are a few of the chosen organizations that our employees decided to support in 2020:

Evidence Action:

Evidence Action's mission; "to reduce the burden of poverty for hundreds of millions. Scaling evidence-based, cost effective programs to maximize our reach, and yours, is the lifeblood of our work. Evidence Action launched formally in 2013 to scale up poverty interventions that have been proven to be effective in order to benefit millions of people.

Evidence Action leads and manages two programs incubated initially by Innovations for Poverty Action: Dispensers for Safe Water and the Deworm the World Initiative. While Evidence Action grew out of a need to manage these programs, the larger goal of the organization was to design a process to bridge the gap between proven interventions that work and scaling them up to produce measurable impact for millions of people."

The Water Project:

"The Water Project, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that's bringing relief to communities around the world who suffer needlessly from a lack of access to clean water. We help raise both awareness and the funds needed to provide the most basic and life- sustaining need of people...water.

We believe that providing clean water restores hope by enabling our partners to make a life- changing impact through their broader development activity. We work closely with partners around the world who identify, implement, report on and follow up on each project. We share this information with our supporters through innovative tools online that inspire confidence in the work being done and the impact it has."

NAACP Legal Defense Fund:

"The NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Inc. is America’s premier legal organization fighting for racial justice. Through litigation, advocacy, and public education, LDF seeks structural changes to expand democracy, eliminate disparities, and achieve racial justice in a society that fulfills the promise of equality for all Americans.

LDF also defends the gains and protections won over the past 80 years of civil rights struggle and works to improve the quality and diversity of judicial and executive appointments.”

Pasado's Safe Haven:

“Pasado's mission: In addition to investigating animal cruelty crimes and providing sanctuary and rehabilitation to animals who have suffered from abuse and neglect, we also advocate for better laws to protect animals and work to educate the public about how they can help end animal suffering. Through our uniquely comprehensive programs, we are able to help thousands of animals every year and spread a message of compassion to countless people.”

Long Live the Kings:

"Since our founding in 1986, Long Live the Kings has worked to restore wild salmon and steelhead and to support sustainable fishing. Our programs―combining on-the-ground fieldwork with scientific innovation and broad partnerships―help decision-makers advance salmon recovery while balancing the needs of fish and people.

We are implementing solutions to rebuild salmon and steelhead populations in Hood Canal and Puget Sound, unraveling the mystery of low salmon survival in the Salish Sea, advancing science and retooling management throughout the Pacific Northwest."

Hawaiian Humane Society:

“Our work to rescue, protect, shelter and care for homeless animals in need. The Hawaiian Humane Society is Oahu’s only open-admission animal shelter. We are not affiliated with any mainland animal groups. Every gift to the Hawaiian Humane Society stays in Hawaii for the benefit of local people and animals.”

Washington Youth Soccer Foundation:

"We work to increase youth soccer opportunities and access for all children in Washington, with a primary focus on underserved youth and communities. We have seen the power soccer has to build character and unite communities andevery community deserves equitable access to every youth opportunity available.

With our free, after-school soccer programs for at-risk youth and leading the drive for increased capacity to serve every youth in Washington, we believe soccer is the key to community strength and social change."
